SailWeek Greece – our new sailing Mediterranean adventure
We are getting more and more excited as the final day approaches. 30th of June is the day we are going to embark, put our sails up and sail out from Athens to Argo Saronic islands. There are eight weeks to choose from!
In the last five years we’ve shown you beautiful Croatian islands, how croatians party and you’ve met dozens of new friends while doing your croatia sail. Now we are ready to sail Greece!
We’ve carefully handpicked the best destinations in the Saronic for our SailWeek Greece itinerary so you can feel, taste and enjoy Greece to the fullest.
We start in Athens every Saturday and do Greek island hopping for the next seven days.
What to say about Athens that you already don’t know. The birthplace of democracy, has a lively nightlife which is just half an hour bus/taxi ride from our starting marina in Alimos.
Athens is quite easy to fly to from all over the world. Please check our Getting to Greece for more info.
Check in starts from 9 a. m. It is very important to be on time because we aim to set sail around 3 p. m. If you have a late flight, give us a call or contact us at info@sailweek.tours and we’ll supply you with the latest info where the SailWeek Greece boats are at the given time and how to reach them. There are dozens of ferries and catamarans which go from Port of Piraeus to nearby islands so it shouldn’t be a problem catching our fleet.
As we said, carefully handpicked destinations make this Greek sail unforgettable.
ITINERARY
Aegina
After you meet your skipper and the rest of the crew we’ll sail out towards Aegina. This former Greek capital is full of chic bars and boutiques. Perfect to spend your first sailing Greece night. If you like pistachios, you’re gonna love this place. Pistachio farms, fresh pistachios, roasted, butters, spirits…you name it, they’ve got it.
Hydra
After Aegina we sail to Hydra, the pearl of Argosaronic. If you want to experience the best sunset in the Mediterranean, you are at the right place. This fortified town is a perfect example of the ancient architecture. Climb the hilltop overlooking the harbour. Take a donkey ride and explore the cobbled streets of this ancient gem. Enjoy the breathtaking clear water and finish your day with a cocktail at the famous Hydronetta bar. Believe us, If it was good enough for Leonard Cohen, It’s gonna be good enough for you 🙂
Dokos
Next day you are in for a treat. Dokos, the island next to Hydra is perfect for relaxation, paddle boarding, diving, sunbathing… Later in the afternoon our skippers are going to make a special SailWeek skipper’s beach bbq on this deserted island. Enjoy the night under the stars with your crew as the day after we are sailing to Spetses.
Spetses
If you like scooters or quads you are at the right place. Rent one and explore the island, visit one of dozens hidden beaches and wander through cobbled stone streets to the picturesque old harbour and Dapia. Enjoy craft shops, bars and chic restaurants.
For the night enjoy local greek cuisine in one of many traditional greek tavernas.
Ermioni
After Spetses It is time for some mainland Greece. We are visiting Ermioni, situated on the coast of Peloponnese peninsula. This coastal town is a maze of small streets, but the best thing about it is that you can’t get lost. Every path leads to the main waterfront with dozens of bars and restaurants that turn to nightclubs during the night. Walk the Bisti pine forest and explore the remains of an ancient site. You’ll love it.
Poros
Before we sail back to Athens we have one more stop to make. We stop on a famous fishermans island of Poros. Water Sports, beach volleyball, scooters, bikes and quads. Time to do some extra activities. Just a short boat ride across the channel there is a hundred year old lemon tree forest, perfect for afternoon walk. We’ll finish the night in one of their famous fish restaurants and have a night out clubbing in Poros best – Malibu bar.
Athens
When we get to Alimos marina – Athens, you’ll have Friday night accomodation on your yacht, which means you can relax and go clubbing and get back to the boat. We have an early check out Saturday morning, unlike the other companies which have it on Friday afternoon so basically you get an extra night on the boat free of charge.
If you are still thinking whether to join us and have a sailing holiday in Greece, think no more.
Doesn’t matter if you are a single/solo traveller, a couple or group of friends. This is a perfectly balanced route and we are sure you’re gonna love it.
